Breathtaking photography from eastern Washington: John Clement signs "Northwest Drylands: Seasons." (Book-signing) |
 Northwest Drylands: Seasons
John Clement's vibrant skies and sweeping colors capture the beauty of the northeast drylands, both cultivated and wild. His most recent release, the long-awaited, coffee table-sized, Northwest Drylands: Seasons, highlights the best of thirty years of his professional photography.
"These are some of my most favorite photographs," said Kennewick photographer Clement, whose 116-page full-color photo essay depicts our eastern Washington landscape in every season, from lightning-filled skies to fields of lupine, from snow-covered barns to autumn-red vineyards, to the soft curves of wheat fields.
Colleague Richard Scheuerman writes: "John's full-spectrum photographic realism represents an oeuvre of sacred possibility. 'I love dramatic skies in this region,' he explains, 'because the lines along the horizon give the feeling of earth-sky connection.' Although he has experimented with avant-garde approaches involving scale, surface, and color, John finds home in this ultimate theme of latent spirituality through the timeless beauty of landscape."
