An ethical-cynic detective unraveling a nation's dirty gamesAnother anxiously-awaited Joe DeMarco thriller about dirty games in our nation's capital. In House Justice, an undercover CIA agent learns of a sale of missile technology to the Iranian government. But after a congressional leak to an ambitious journalist, the spy is exposed, brutally tortured, and executed. The CIA director vows to find out who exposed the spy no matter how many rules he has to break. Meanwhile DeMarco's boss, Speaker of the House John Fitzpatrick Mahoney, has a personal reason for uncovering the leak: the jailed journalist knows something about Mahoney he's hoping she won't tell. And now, besides DeMarco and the CIA, there's someone else on the trail. Someone else wants to avenge the spy's death, and is tailing DeMarco, hoping he'll lead him to his prey. House Justice is classic Mike Lawson: the tough ethical-cynic detective, fascinating characters, inside-the-beltway intrigue, and a gripping plot packed with surprises.

About the Author
Mike Lawson was raised in Pueblo, CO, got an engineering degree at Seattle University, and spent the next thirty years as a U.S. Navy nuclear engineer, sometimes in Washington D.C., but mainly in Bremerton, Washington. Mike was a member of the government's Senior Executive Service and the top civilian at the shipyard responsible for navy reactor plant work on the West Coast.
In Mike's own words: I love Washington [D.C.]; I've lived and worked there; and I understand a bit about how the government works ... I worked with high-ranking military officers and civilians in the Department of Defense and had dealings with numerous other government organizations and members of Congress. Because of my background, I know how our government works and how the people in it tend to act... Regarding my personal life, let's just leave it at: I'm married, live in the Pacific Northwest, and when I'm not writing I mostly just goof around.
