Presentation by best-selling sci-fi/fantasy master Terry Brooks |
Terry Brooks is the author of over twenty-six books, including over twenty New York Times best-sellers. Many of Terry's works are set in the spell-binding world of Shannara. Terry is also acclaimed for his Landover and World and Void series. Terry is also the author of a writing guide, Sometimes the Magic Works.
Sometimes the Magic Works brims with sage advice for the beginning and expert writer alike, detailing the steps to writing from the moment the idea is conceived. Terry discusses how to become published, the importance of a query letter, and how to pick an agent or editor. Writing takes determination, passion, daily humility, personal commitment and the ability to accept defeat and try again, says Terry. Luck is important, and sometimes, the magic works.
Terry's latest release, A Princess of Landover, adds a dazzling cast of characters and creatures to Landover's remarkable realm of dragons, demons, wizards, and wonders. When headstrong, half-magical Mistaya runs away from home she sets in motion an eventful odyssey peppered with a formidable dragon, recalcitrant gnomes, an inscrutable magic cat, a handsome librarian, a sinister sorcerer, and more than a few narrow escapes. Fate draws Landover's intrepid princess to the last place she expected to go, and into the thick of a mystery that will put her mettle to the test-and might bring the kingdom to its knees.
